
Mymensingh Representative:
A memorandum has been submitted in Mymensingh, like the rest of the country, with 9-point demands including fixing the national minimum wage, forming a permanent wage commission, and enacting a democratic labor law in light of the ILO Convention to ensure free trade union rights.
On Tuesday (September 9, 2025) at 11:30 am, the labor leaders submitted this memorandum to the labor advisor through the Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner. The memorandum was accepted by Deputy Commissioner Mofidul Alam.
The demands include – stopping the port-corridor leasing scheme, canceling the temporary/outsourcing/contractual recruitment system for permanent work, ensuring justice for worker murders and oppression, reopening closed factories, etc.
Present at the event were Bangladesh Trade Union Sangha Mymensingh District President Advocate Harun Or Rashid, Sramik Dal Mymensingh District Branch General Secretary Mofidul Islam Mohan, Bangladesh Trade Union Sangha Mymensingh District Vice President Mahbubur Rahman Babul, Treasurer Abdur Rahman Toman, Office Secretary Babli Akand and Executive Member Mokhlesur Rahman, among others.
