Home Affairs Advisor There will be no compromise on law and order in elections

Rajshahi Correspondent:

Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that there will be no compromise in maintaining law and order in the elections. Any attempt to disrupt public security will be strictly suppressed.

He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at a law and order exchange meeting organized by the divisional administration at the Rajshahi Prison Training Academy auditorium on Wednesday (February 4) afternoon to ensure the smooth conduct of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026.

The advisor said, “In the past fifteen years, every structure has been destroyed in national and local elections. Voting rights have been taken away in a dictatorial process. Now the people, political parties and international observers are keeping an eye on this election. Our professionalism is essential to make the election fair and impartial.”

He also said that the election-related officials will perform their duties with complete impartiality. Law enforcement agencies will identify and bring center-based terrorists and troublemakers under the law. Action must be taken immediately in risky centers and utmost importance will be given to recovering illegal weapons.

The advisor warned that no one will be involved in implementing the agenda of an individual, party or political party. Strict action will be taken if wrongdoing is done due to negligence of duty, bias or greed. It is mandatory to follow the instructions of the Election Commission, the Election Code of Conduct and the circular issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs in all election processes.

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Gani presided over the meeting. Senior officials related to public administration and elections of Rajshahi Division including Border Guard Bangladesh, Ansar and Village Defense Force, RAB, Police and Army were present as special guests.
