Police have recovered the body of a college student named Mrs. Dhatri Rani (20) from a pond in Boda, Panchagarh, 3 days after the college student went missing.
The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the area.
On Friday (February 6) morning, Boda Police recovered the body of the college student from a pond next to her house in Araji Sakoya area of Sakoya Union of the upazila. It is learned that the college student Dhatri Rani is the daughter of Khitis Chandra Barman of that area. She is a first-year degree student of Sakoya Degree College.
According to police and local sources, the college student named Dhatri Rani left her home for private studies in Sakoya Bazar last Tuesday afternoon. When she did not return home after going out for private studies, her family members searched for her. Unable to find her, her father filed a general diary with the police station. Meanwhile, 3 days after the disappearance, locals found the body of the college student in a pond near the house. Later, they informed the police, who went to the spot and after initial examination of the body, recovered the body and sent it to the Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Confirming the recovery of the body, Boda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Selim Malik said, “After receiving the news, the body was recovered at the spot and sent to the Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The real cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report. Legal action is under process in this incident.
