Fire Service and Civil Defense Week-2026 inaugurated in Mollahat

The inauguration of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Week-2026 was held in Mollahat, Bagerhat with the theme “Only one way for fire fighters, we will keep our wealth and lives safe”. The inauguration ceremony was organized by the Mollahat Fire Service and Civil Defense Station on Monday morning at the station compound.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the national flag and the fire service’s own flag were hoisted. Later, a colorful procession took out and circled the main roads of the upazila before returning to the station compound. Fire service officials and employees, people from different classes and professions, students and local dignitaries participated in the procession.

Various banners, festoons and awareness messages on fire accident prevention, disaster management and public awareness were displayed in the procession.

Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Upazila Executive Officer Sumona Airin said, “The fire service is not only responsible for controlling fires, but also works tirelessly to help people in any disaster or humanitarian crisis. It is very important to increase public awareness to prevent fire accidents and ensure safety in every family and institution. If awareness is increased, accidents can be reduced to a large extent.”

She also said, “The role of the fire service is very important in providing quick service during disasters and protecting people’s lives and property. Therefore, everyone should follow the fire safety instructions and inform the fire service quickly in emergency situations.”

Under the overall supervision of Mollahat Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Officer Sharif Aminul Islam, local dignitaries including Press Club Mollahat General Secretary MM Mofizur Rahman, Vice President Md. Moniruzzaman Molla, Abdullah Faruk and journalist Al Hafiz were present at the event.
