Two autorickshaw passengers killed in Gazipur bus crash

Two autorickshaw passengers were killed when a bus hit the back of an autorickshaw in Gazipur. Two more people were injured in the incident. The accident occurred at around 2:30 pm today (June 4) in the Basan area of ​​Gazipur on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. Police and fire service members arrived and recovered the bodies after receiving the information.

Eyewitnesses said that on Thursday afternoon, an autorickshaw was heading towards Bhogra bypass with passengers in the Gazipur bypass area. The autorickshaw suddenly braked on the road to pick up passengers. At that time, a bus of Baniya Paribahan leaving from Dhaka hit it from behind.

At that time, the autorickshaw fell under the pressure of another bus in front and twisted, killing two people on the spot. On receiving the information, fire service members arrived and cut the autorickshaw and recovered the bodies of two people. Two more people were injured in the incident. However, their identities were not immediately known.

Gazipur Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Md. Mamun said, “On receiving the information, our team immediately came and cut the autorickshaw with a cutter and extracted the bodies of the two. Their bodies were badly injured. Two more people were sent to the hospital in injured condition. Locals seized the bus and informed the police.”
