The court has rejected the bail of 07 leaders including the UP chairman of Kalai in the explosives and murder case organized during the July Revolution in Joypurhat and ordered them to be sent to jail. On Thursday afternoon, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Milan Chandra Pal of Joypurhat Administrative Court (Sadar) gave this order after the hearing.
The 07 leaders sent to jail are - Kalai Upazila AL General Secretary Fazlur Rahman (70), Vice President Abdul Quddus Fakir (56), Jindarpur Union AL President Rafiqul Islam (55), Kalai Upazila Juba League General Secretary Ziaur Rahman (48), Ahmedabad Union AL President Akbar Ali (58), Kalai Upazila AL member Enamul Hossain Fakir (54) and Minhazur Rahman Mithun (40), son of former student leader Panchpaika village deceased Mahfuzar Rahman.
Court sources said the accused are listed in the July Revolution explosives and murder case. They had been in hiding for a long time. On Thursday afternoon, they appeared in court together and sought bail through their lawyers. However, after a long hearing, the judge rejected their bail application. Later, on the court's orders, they were quickly sent to Joypurhat District Jail under strict police guard.
Confirming this, Shahanur Rahman Shaheen, Public Prosecutor (PP) of the District and Sessions Judge's Court, said that considering the seriousness of the cases against the accused, the court rejected their bail application and ordered them to be sent to jail.
