Madhyanagar (Sunamganj) Correspondent:
Local children are continuing their education in extreme hardship due to the lack of a government primary school in Bandra village, ward number 7 of Uttar Banshikunda Union, 1st North Banshikunda Union, Madhyanagar Upazila. Due to the lack of schools, students have to go to distant educational institutions including Mahishkhala, Kartikpur and Southpara Government Primary Schools.
Children have to cross the nearby river to go to school. Especially during the monsoon season, when the river flow increases due to hilly terrain, crossing in small boats becomes very risky. As a result, many students cannot attend school regularly.
Local residents said that children have to risk their lives to go to school every day. If a government primary school is established, their suffering will be reduced and an educational environment will be ensured.
In this regard, Hadiruzzaman of Mahishkhala village said, âDue to the lack of schools, children are crossing the river at risk. Many are not able to study regularly. The issue needs to be resolved quickly.â
Guardians and conscious people have sought the intervention of the concerned authorities. They claim that establishing a government primary school in Bandra village will increase the literacy rate and children will have the opportunity to study in a safe environment.
