A day-long workshop titled “Mastering English Language” was organized by the Society for Research and Development (SRD), a research organization formed by the students of the Department of Sociology of Gopalganj University of Science and Technology (GOBST) and with the support of teachers.

The workshop, which started at 9 am on Friday, provided participants with the opportunity to discuss and practice various aspects of learning and practicing the English language. The keynote speaker of the workshop was Md. Atikur Rahman Raju, who is an expert in communication skills, test preparation, and academic writing.

A student-run research organization, SRD is working to identify and analyze complex challenges in society, economics, and the environment. Through rigorous research and an evidence-based approach, SRD works to create effective collaboration between policymakers, researchers, and practitioners, and to formulate innovative solutions and policy recommendations.

Komen Chakma, a student of the Department of Sociology, said, “Through this workshop, I have gained new ideas about speaking English and academic writing. It will undoubtedly play an important role in our future studies and careers.”

It is worth noting that SRD has been regularly undertaking such workshops, training and research initiatives for students. Certificates were awarded to the participants at the end of the workshop.
