Janaza of three of the four victims of the bloody clash in Narail, burial completed. Three of the four victims of the murder in Barukula village of Shingasholpur union of Narail Sadar upazila, including a father and son, were buried together in Singasholpur after the funeral. After the funeral of one of the other parties, he was buried in Tarapur village. The deceased were buried after the funeral in the presence of law enforcement officers on Tuesday (February 24) at around 4:15 pm.
The burial of the deceased Khalil Sheikh, his son Tahajjud Sheikh and Ferdous Hossain of the same party was completed at the Singasholpur graveyard, two kilometers away from their home, and the burial of the other deceased Osiqur Mia was completed in the graveyard of his ancestral home Tarapur village in the afternoon. Earlier, the bodies of the deceased reached the village after the autopsy in the afternoon.
Their relatives have given conflicting statements about the four murders on the spot.
The relatives of Khalil Sheikh and Ferdous Hossain said that at around 5:30 am on Monday, the people of the opponent former UP Chairman Khairuzzaman Khair suddenly attacked our people with country-made weapons and brutally hacked and killed 3 people. Sumi Begum, the wife of the deceased Tahazzud Sheikh, said that on Monday morning, we were preparing to sleep after eating Sehri.
At least 50-55 people from Tarapur village and our village opponents entered our house with country-made weapons and took my father-in-law Khalil Sheikh and husband Tahazzud out of the house and brutally hacked them to death in multiple places on their bodies with sharp weapons. In addition, the opponents hacked and killed our neighbor Ferdous in the same way. My 3 children became orphans after they killed my husband.
Tahajjud's sister Rimpa Khanam said, "My father Khalil Sheikh and brother were killed by the people of the opposing Khair chairman due to past enmity. We want justice for this murder."
Rabeya Begum, the wife of the deceased Ferdous, held her 4-month-old daughter Rafsana in her arms and said in a tearful voice, "My five children have become orphans. There is no one left to love them."
Ferdous' expatriate brother Rubel Sheikh said, "Those who killed my innocent brother have already been involved in various terrorist activities in the area. My brother was killed in a planned manner because he protested their wrongdoings."
Meanwhile, the police sent them to court on Tuesday after arresting six people involved in the murder of four people. Earlier, they were arrested in various areas on Monday (February 23) night. However, no case has been filed in the murder case as of the time of writing this report.
The arrested are: Boni Shikder (33), son of Amin Shikder of Tarapur village, Halim Fakir (60), son of the deceased Lalon Fakir of Barukula village, Tufan Molya (30), son of Tujam Molya of Kharia village in Kalia upazila, Saday Molya (36), son of Ruhul Molya of Tarapur village in Sadar, Lajuk alias Suryoj Shikder (32), son of Taiyob Shikder, and Jasim Molya (30), son of Sabur Molya.
Narail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Oli Mia said that the police and RAB have arrested six people in connection with the murder of four people, including a father and son, in Barukula village of Sadar upazila on Monday morning. An investigation is underway to unravel the mystery of the murder. Hopefully, the mystery will be unraveled soon and those involved in the murder will be arrested.
Incidentally, a bloody clash broke out between the two groups in the Barukula area, a place of dominance between the people of the former chairmen of Singosholpur Union, Khair Molly and Ujjal Sheikh, in the early hours of Monday (February 23). Rahman Khalil of the Ujjal Sheikh group, his son Tahazzud Hossain, and Ferdous Hossain of the same group died on the spot after being hit by local weapons. The seriously injured former chairman of the other group, Khair Group, Osibur Mia, died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
