Joypurhat Correspondent:
Joypurhat Municipality workers and employees have held a human chain program demanding four points, including not being absent on the day of the 13th National Parliament election. The hour-long human chain was held in front of Joypurhat Municipality on Monday (March 3) at around 3 pm. Workers and employees from various branches of the municipality participated in it.
Joypurhat Municipality Workers and Employees Union President Mohan Chandra Das, Vice President Saiful Islam and Joint General Secretary Hasnat Hossain, along with other workers, spoke at the time.

The labor leaders in the human chain said that the municipal authorities did not pay the attendance salary of 263 workers on the day of the last National Parliament election. The attendance salary should be increased from the current 375 taka to 550 taka, including payment of the salary on the voting day. In addition, if a worker dies, the municipality should provide cash financial assistance to his family and increase the festival allowance. Until these demands are met by the municipal authorities, the strike will continue while present at the municipality.
Joypurhat Municipality Administrative Officer Abdul Hashem said, "I am aware of the fact that the workers and employees have formed a human chain. I will inform the higher authorities about the matter. No work has been done from them since the 12th is a government holiday. They have not officially given any memorandum, so I cannot give details about their demands."
