A discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony were held on the occasion of the celebration of the Great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day 2026. This event was organized by Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Chapainawabganj District Unit at the conference room of Chapainawabganj Municipality today, Saturday (February 21).

Chairman and Deputy Commissioner of the District Unit of Chapainawabganj Red Crescent Society, Md. Shahadat Hossain Masud, was present as the chief guest at the event. Vice Chairman Advocate Noor Alam Siddique Asad and Secretary Md. Khairul Islam were present as special guests.

Executive Member Professor Md. Shafiur Rahman Biplob, Manik Raihan, Mofiz Uddin, Rozia Sultana and Irin Parveen and other leaders were also present. The speakers at the discussion meeting remembered the sacrifice of the language martyrs with deep respect and emphasized on increasing love and awareness for the mother tongue among the new generation.

The speakers said that the 1952 Language Movement was a glorious chapter in the realization of Bengali identity and rights. At the end of the program, Chairman and Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj Red Crescent Unit Md. Shahadat Hossain Masud distributed prizes among the winners of the essay competition. Certificates and gifts were given to the winning students. The program was conducted in an orderly and festive atmosphere and it instilled a deep sense of patriotism and respect for the mother tongue among the participants.
