After serving for 47 years in Ramganj, Lakshmipur, the locals bid farewell to an imam named Maulana Nesar Ahmed with a royal welcome.

The Ramganj Municipality Uttar Tamta Jame Mosque and Madrasa Management Committee bid farewell to him with a floral tribute, a cash award of 4 lakh taka, a commemorative plaque, various gifts and a car decorated with flowers.
Hafez Qari Mohammad Nesar Ahmed. Age about 70 years. He took charge as the imam of the Uttar Tamta Jame Mosque in Ramganj Municipality area of ââLakshmipur district about 47 years ago with a salary of just 80 taka. After youth, marriage and old age, he has bowed down to the weight of age today. Despite bowing down to the weight of age, he led the Friday prayers today in view of the demands of the Muslims. Everyone performed the Friday obligatory prayer with a full voice and melodious pronunciation.
Hafez Qari Mohammad Nesar Ahmed's village home is the Haji Bari of Taherpur village in the same upazila. In his personal life, he is the father of 4 daughters and 2 sons.

His eldest son, Maulana Zahirul Islam Mujahid, is a scholar, khatib and social worker.
When he expressed his inability to perform his duties to the mosque committee due to physical illness and old age, Maulana Nesar Ahmed was given a special honor and farewell by the mosque committee and the local youth society on Friday. Various gifts including 4 lakh taka were given to the imam. After the Friday prayer, Maulana Nesar Ahmed prayed for the mosque's worshippers and the local people.
Before the farewell ceremony, moderated by teacher Faruk Hossain, Madrasa Management Committee President Rafiq Ullah Patwary, Mosque Committee President Mizanur Rahman Patwary, prominent Dhaka businessman Sajedul Islam Rubel, Ramganj Model Degree College Associate Professor Habib Ullah, and Ramganj One Minute Sweets owner Jasim Uddin spoke.
