101 bottles of liquor recovered in BGB operation at Panchbibi border

The BGB conducted a drive in the Panchbibi border area of ​​Joypurhat and recovered 101 bottles of liquor coming from India. The liquor was recovered from the Chechra area of ​​the upazila on Friday morning, September 19.

The BGB said that it received a tip-off that a large quantity of Indian liquor would enter Bangladesh. Based on this tip-off, a BGB patrol team under the Atapara BOP started hunting in the Chechra field, 1 yard inside Bangladesh from the 283/25-S pillar of the border. At that time, when a smuggler saw him coming towards Bangladesh, the BGB patrol team challenged him, but the smuggler quickly fled, leaving a sack. The patrol team searched the sack and recovered 100 bottles of Indian Officers’ Choice and 1 bottle of Magic Moments, whose Caesar value is Tk 1,51,500/-.

The BGB said that it will continue such operations to prevent smuggling in the future, following a zero-tolerance policy against drugs.
