In Chapainawabganj’s Bholahat, 11 houses of 3 brothers of the same family were reported to have been completely gutted due to a fire caused by an electrical short circuit. On Sunday (May 31, 2026) at around 2:15 in the afternoon, the fire accident occurred in Adampur village of Jambaria Union No. 4 of the upazila.

According to witnesses and local sources, 3 brothers Md. Qutub Ali, Md. Mesbah and Md. Meser Alidway, son of deceased Meher Ali of Adampur village of Bicchinna 4 Jambaria Union of Bicchinna, 3 families of 11 houses were completely burnt down.

UP Chairman Md. Afaz Uddin Panu Mia and concerned ward member Md. Abdus Sabur said that no one was in the house at the time of the fire incident. Above their houses are rural power lines. When a fire started in a house from that line, within a short time all the houses of those 3 families and all the daily necessities and other goods in the house were completely burnt and destroyed.

When the fire started spreading, the local witnesses informed the Bholahat Fire Service, and the team of the fire service quickly brought 1 water cannon and 1 dump truck to the spot and brought the fire under control.

According to the source of the affected family, the amount of damage to 11 houses of 3 families and daily necessities in the house is more than 35 lakh rupees. It appears that all the members of the 3 families who were victims of this fire were crying.
