Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Naima Khan conducted a mobile court operation in response to allegations of illegal pond digging in various places in Tanor, Rajshahi without the permission of the administration.
Meanwhile, upon sensing the presence of the team deployed in the operation, the miscreants involved in the pond digging fled the scene and no one could be arrested. However, due to lack of transportation, 2 excavators (Veku) were rendered useless and 8 batteries were seized.
It is learned that on Tuesday (April 28), Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Naima Khan seized 4 batteries from Binodpur village of Panchandar Union (UP) of the upazila. In addition, two inactive excavators (VEKU) were seized from Masinda and Tapper intersection in Tanor municipal area, and 4 batteries were seized from behind the madrasa adjacent to Kaliganj Hat.
In this regard, Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Naima Khan said that the ongoing campaign of the upazila administration against illegal pond digging and cutting of topsoil on cropland will continue.
Meanwhile, the general public has highly appreciated the campaign for the illegal excavators (VEKU) being deactivated and batteries seized by conducting mobile courts. At the same time, they have requested that the campaign be continued regularly.
