2 injured in two private car accident at Amjhupi Bazar on Meherpur-Chuadanga road

Two people were injured in a private car accident in the Amjhupi Bazar area on the Meherpur-Chuadanga road. The accident occurred around 2 am on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, when two high-speed private cars were racing, causing serious damage to two shops and twisting the private car. The injured are Ferdous (19), son of Hafiz of Cinema Hallpara in Chuadanga district, and Ohi (19) of Palashpara.

Police and witnesses said that two private cars were racing from Meherpur city to Chuadanga when suddenly a private car lost control in Amjhupi Bazar and first hit the signboard of Marcel showroom, then crashed into the Lime Coffee House shop and hit the banyan tree next to it, causing the car to twist and twist and the two people inside were seriously injured.

After the accident, passengers in the other private car quickly rescued the injured.
Confirming the incident, Meherpur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Mejbauddin Ahmed said that due to the late night, no one could be found at the scene, and it is learned that the two seriously injured were taken away by their companions.

The private car was completely mangled and is currently in police custody. CCTV footage from nearby shops is being collected, and efforts are underway to identify those responsible by reviewing the footage.
