A large amount of Indian narcotics has been seized in a separate operation of the BGB at the Dhamirhat border in Naogaon. In addition to carrying out the responsibility of the National Parliament election, strict surveillance was also maintained at the border and a large amount of Indian narcotic Tapentadol tablets were recovered in the operation of the 14th BGB.
Currently, on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament election, 38 platoons of BGB members are performing election duties round the clock in 16 upazilas of 09 constituencies in 02 districts under the responsibility of the 14th BGB. At the same time, as the main responsibility of the BGB, the 14th BGB is working tirelessly as vigilant guards of the border to prevent smuggling. In continuation of this, on 04 February 2026 at 1430 hrs, a special patrol team led by Bastabor BOP Patrol Commander Habib Medin Saha Md. Salauddin was conducting a raid on the dirt road in front of the brick kiln of a Bakkar Master in Sheikhhati village under Dhamairhat police station, approximately 02 km from Border Pillar 261 MP, inside Bangladesh. Sensing the presence of BGB, the smuggler fled the scene by abandoning his motorcycle. Later, the BGB patrol team was able to seize 64 pieces of narcotic Tapentadol tablets and 01 motorcycle without an owner. The recovered narcotics have been handed over to Dhamairhat police station. Also, today, February 05, 2026, at 0330 hrs, a special patrol team led by Kalupara BOP Patrol Commander Habib Md. Badsha Alamgir conducted an operation on the eastern bank of Altadighi under Dhamirhat Police Station, approximately 200 yards inside Bangladesh from Border Pillar 268/9-S. When the smugglers sensed the presence of the BGB, they fled in the darkness of the night, leaving behind the narcotics. Later, the patrol team was able to recover 10,400 pieces of narcotic Tapentadol tablets without an owner. The recovered narcotics are under the process of being handed over to Dhamirhat Police Station. The value of which is 20,80,000/- Taka. The total value of the seized narcotics is 21,42,800/- Taka.
Along with fulfilling the electoral responsibilities, the Commander of Patnitala Battalion (14 BGB) has pledged to continue all-out operations to prevent illegal border crossings, maintain law and order in the country, and suppress all types of cross-border criminal activities in the responsible areas of Naogaon and Joypurhat.
