Patient’s death at Dhamairhat Hospital alleges negligence

Allegations of negligence have been made regarding the death of a woman at Dhamirhat Hospital. The victim, Mehedi Hasan, said, “My mother was admitted to Dhamirhat Hospital after 7 pm on Wednesday, February 4 and died at 9:30 pm due to the negligence of the staff.

The nurse in charge misbehaved with the patients without providing proper care.” The next day, Thursday, February 5, after the burial of the deceased Maleka Begum, her son Mehedi Hasan, son-in-law Joy Russell, neighbor Nazmul Hasan and other relatives arrived at the hospital in the afternoon and asked Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ashish Kumar to find out the cause of death and ask for a death certificate.

Resident Medical Officer Dr. Zahurul Islam explained the cause of death. And said that proper treatment was given. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ashish Kumar said, “If there is negligence on the part of the staff in providing services, necessary action will be taken after investigation.”

When the situation becomes tense, many people arrive there. Sub-Inspector Ujjwal Hossain of Dhamairhat Police Station reached the spot and controlled the situation. Upazila Executive Officer Prashant Kumar said, if there is a complaint, action will be taken after investigation.
