Mobile court operation to keep market stable in Joypurhat

Joypurhat Correspondent:

The administration’s mobile court has conducted a drive to keep the daily necessities market stable in Joypurhat. During this time, two traders have been fined Tk 1,000 for not maintaining the price list of the products properly, not having a license and selling the products at higher prices.

On Monday (March 2) afternoon, this mobile court was conducted in the city’s Fish Market and Railgate areas by Assistant Commissioner of the District Administration and Executive Magistrate Sajjad Hossain.

He said that the drive has been conducted to keep the daily necessities market stable during the month of Ramadan. The drive is being conducted to see whether the price list of the products is being maintained in the shops, whether the prices are being increased and whether adulterated products are being sold. Some unscrupulous traders are selling products at higher prices by capitalizing on the month of Ramadan.

Keeping this issue in mind, this mobile court was conducted under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Joypurhat. Such mobile courts will continue to be conducted at the initiative of the district administration to keep the market stable.

District Agricultural Marketing Officer (Acting) Ratan Kumar and others were also present at the time.
