25 flights canceled at Chittagong Shah Amanat Airport

Chittagong Correspondent:

25 flights have been canceled at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong due to the conflict between Iran and the US-Israel in the Middle East. Shah Amanat International Airport Public Relations Officer Ibrahim Khalil confirmed the matter and said, “A total of 25 flights, including departures and arrivals, have been canceled from Saturday to Monday morning due to the war situation. Of these, 6 were canceled on Saturday, 14 on Sunday and 5 flights were canceled until Monday morning.”

He also said, “Salam Airways’ OV-403 flight arrived in Chittagong from Muscat on Sunday night and OV-401 flight arrived in Chittagong at 8 am on Monday. OV-402 flight of the same airline left Chittagong at 9:30 am on Monday.” After being closed all day on Friday, Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Jeddah-bound ‘BG 135’ flight left Chittagong at 4:35 pm on Sunday afternoon with 419 passengers.

International air traffic, including to the Middle East, has been severely disrupted since last Saturday. Iran and Israel have closed their airspace. The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar have also decided to close their airspace. The world’s busiest airport, Dubai International Airport, as well as the airports in Abu Dhabi and Doha, are also closed. This has caused disruption to air traffic at Dhaka and Chittagong airports.
