A mobile court has fined Ganga Motors Tk 9,000 for creating an artificial crisis by hoarding fuel oil in the Panchuria area of Gopalganj Sadar.
The operation was conducted in the Panchuria area of Gopalganj Municipality from 1:30 pm to 2:10 pm on Saturday (March 28, 2026). Executive Magistrate Nazmul Haque Swapan led the operation. According to the mobile court sources, Ganga Motors kept about 1,500 liters of fuel oil in stock and closed the shop. This created an artificial crisis of fuel in the area and consumers were in trouble.
During the operation, the owner of the company, Anarva Sharma, was fined Tk 9,000 for this crime.
Meanwhile, the crowd at various petrol pumps and retail outlets has increased due to the irregular supply of fuel oil. Many people are expressing dissatisfaction and returning after not getting fuel.
The mobile court has informed that the campaign against any hoarding activities that create instability in the market will continue.
