Two drug dealers arrested with banned Tapentadol tablets

Kalai Thana Police have arrested two drug dealers with 100 pieces of Tapentadol tablets in Kalai, Joypurhat. They were arrested in a raid in front of the Punat Girls High School in the upazila on Thursday (May 21) afternoon.

The arrested are Nilufa Yasmin Aduri (22), wife of Kawsar Jahan Joni of Punat Nayapara village in the upazila, and Shah Alam (24), son of Hamed Ali of Madai Kharpa village.

According to Kalai Thana Police sources, Nilufa and Shah Alam had been selling drugs in the area for a long time. Based on a secret tip-off, they were arrested with drugs in a raid on Thursday afternoon. During this, 100 pieces of Tapentadol tablets, a button mobile phone and a vanity bag were recovered from them.

Kalai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam confirmed the incident and said that based on a secret tip-off, a raid was conducted in Punat area and two people were arrested along with banned Tapentadol tablets. Preparations are underway to file a case against the arrested people under the Narcotics Control Act.
