The police have arrested a drug dealer with 70 pieces of banned narcotics, Tapentadol tablets, in Tanore, Rajshahi. The incident took place at around 12:15 pm on Friday at the Amsho Medical intersection in the municipal area. The arrested person is Sajjad Ali; he is the son of Belat Ali of Amsho Muthrapur village.
Police said that on Friday at around 12:15 pm, a secret tip-off was received about the sale of narcotics, Tapentadol tablets, on the southwest side of the Amsho Medical intersection in the municipal Sadar area. Later, a raid was conducted and the drug dealer Sajjad was arrested. After the arrest, 70 pieces of tablets were recovered from him during a search.
The estimated market value of the recovered tablets is Tk 16,100, according to the police.
Confirming the matter, the officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station, SM Masud Parvez, said that Sajjad Ali was arrested with 70 pieces of Tapentadol tablets during an anti-drug operation. A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act and he has been sent to jail.
