The police recovered the bodies of four members of the same family from a house in Bamunshikar area of Paba upazila of Rajshahi on Friday (August 15) morning.
A note was recovered from the house at that time. The note mentioned debt and lack of food as the reasons for their deaths. The deceased are Minarul Islam (30), his wife Sadhina Begum (28), son Mahim (13) and daughter Mithila (18 months).
The note reads, “I killed everyone with my own hands because if I die alone, who will my wife, son and daughter hope to live. They will get nothing but pain and sorrow. We died because of debt and lack of food. I cannot accept so much pain anymore. So it is better for us to die than to live.”
It also reads, “No one should be inferior to people because of me.” My father has become small for me, for many people, and he doesn’t have to be anymore. He is gone forever. I want everyone to be well.
