British High Commissioner pays courtesy call on Defense Advisor

The Defence Advisor to the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the British High Commissioner met in a courtesy call to further consolidate the long-standing military and diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.
The meeting was held at the Office of the Defence Advisor to the Prime Minister at the Armed Forces Division of Dhaka Cantonment on Wednesday. The British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, H.E. Sarah Cooke, paid a courtesy call on the Defence Advisor to the Prime Minister, Brigadier General Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam PSC, G, (Retd).

Main content of the discussion:-
The meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere and various issues of bilateral interest were discussed:

Defence Cooperation:- Fruitful discussions were held on further expanding the areas of ongoing defence cooperation between the two countries.

​Strengthening Military Relations:- Emphasis was placed on taking the existing professional relationship and strategic partnership between the armed forces of Bangladesh and the UK to new heights.

​Historical Bonds:- During the conversation, the Prime Minister’s Defense Advisor fondly recalled the long-standing and deep friendly relations between Bangladesh and the UK.

​Bilateral Importance:-
​It is expected that this meeting will further pave the way for mutual cooperation on military training, technology exchange and security issues between the two countries. Senior officials of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
