Chief Advisor orders to organize BCS exam according to calendar

Dhaka Correspondent:

Maintaining transparency, Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has ordered to organize BCS exams at a specific time every year according to the calendar.

The Chief Advisor gave this instruction in a meeting with Public Service Commission (PSC) officials at the State Guest House Jamuna on Sunday afternoon.

The Chief Advisor said, ‘The exams and appointments must be completed at a specific time every year according to the calendar. BCS exams are the ‘entry point’. Those who pass this exam will run the government. So if there is any kind of irregularity at the entry point, it will have an impact on the entire system.’

‘The problems and crises that exist must be resolved responsibly. Everyone must work together for the necessary reforms. This is also necessary for those who will run the government in the future,’ he said. In the meeting, Commission Chairman Professor Dr. Mobasher Monem discussed the establishment of financial autonomy and administrative autonomy of the Public Service Commission.

He further said that the commission has already given a five-year roadmap and the examination and recruitment will be completed from November to October of the following year.

The commission members said that due to political interference, various irregularities, nepotism, question leaks, etc. have occurred in the BCS examination in the last 15 years. Necessary reforms have been completed to ensure that irregularities never return to the PSC and that it becomes a place of trust for everyone.
