Flag hoisted at Lohagara Upazila Awami League office in Narail The Lohagara Upazila Awami League branch office in Narail has hoisted the national flag by hanging several pictures of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Ujjwal Roy, district representative from Narail, said that the incident took place at the Awami League office in the Joypur Jamrultala area of the upazila on Tuesday (February 17) night.
On Wednesday (February 18) morning, when the matter spread on social media Facebook, there was mixed reaction in the area. According to local sources, someone hoisted the national flag by hanging several leaflets with national pictures of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday night. When the matter came to light on Wednesday morning, the pictures and flags on the wall were later removed.
It is worth noting that after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, the office was set on fire and extensively vandalized by agitating students and the public. Since then, the office has been abandoned.
In this regard, Lohagara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abdur Rahman said, “I am not aware of the matter, but we are investigating.”
