The hanging body of a child named Rifat Hasan (11) has been recovered in Trishal, Mymensingh. Police recovered the body from a house in Ward No. 2 of the municipality on Tuesday night (August 26, 2025). The deceased Rifat is the son of Akram Hossain, an expatriate from Malaysia.
Local family and neighbors said that after returning from coaching on Tuesday evening, he had an argument with Rifat’s mother over eating ice cream. At one stage, she locked him on the balcony of the veranda. After some time, family members found Rifat hanging on the balcony. Later, the police were informed and the body was recovered and taken to the police station.
Trishal Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Nahid Parvez said, “On receiving the news, the body was recovered from the scene. Initially, it is believed that Rifat committed suicide due to a dispute with his mother over eating ice cream. However, the real cause of death can be confirmed after the autopsy.”
