Based on secret information from Chapainawabganj Battalion (53 BGB), on February 1, from 1 am to 8 am, a special patrol team of 53 BGB conducted 03 separate operations and seized 35 bottles of Indian intoxicant Escafe syrup and 07 cows.
In the operations, 35 bottles of Indian intoxicant Escafe syrup were seized from Gopalpur village of Durlavpur union under Shibganj police station by Manoharpur BOP, 02 cows were seized from Raninagar village of Charbagdanga union under Sadar police station by Charbagdanga BOP, and 05 cows were seized from the padma river char of Munnapara village of Narayanpur union under Sadar police station by Bakherali BOP.
The estimated market value of the seized Indian narcotic syrup and cow is Tk 19 lakh. The seized narcotic syrup has been deposited at Shibganj Police Station and the cow at Chapainawabganj Customs Office. Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Mustafizur Rahman, PSC, Commander of Chapainawabganj Battalion (53 BGB), confirmed the truth of this matter and said that the BGB is always active in the area under the responsibility of the battalion, including border security, to prevent any kind of smuggling and illegal activities.
In addition, patrolling and intelligence surveillance have been strengthened at the border in recent times on the occasion of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026.
