A person has been arrested with a large quantity of Indian liquor in a special operation by the Chhatak police in Sunamganj. The operation was conducted on the paved road in front of the Lal Mosque in Mandlibhog village of Chhatak Municipality at around 8:45 pm on Wednesday (September 9).
A special team of Chhatak Police Station conducted the operation based on a secret tip-off. At that time, Md. Badruzzaman Badrul (42), son of the deceased Ashir Uddin of Dakshin Ganeshpur village, was arrested. A total of 50 bottles of Indian liquor, including 15 bottles of Mc Dowells No-1 LUXURY (375 ml), 12 bottles of Ice VODKA (375 ml) and 23 bottles of Officer’s Choice (180 ml), were seized from his custody. The estimated market value of the liquor is 52 thousand taka.
In this incident, the police station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Sikandar Ali filed a case (Case No.-09, Date-19/09/2025) at Chhatak Police Station under Section 25B(1)(b) of The Special Powers Act, 1974.
Chhatak Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shafiqul Islam said, “The police operation against drugs is ongoing. Drug dealers and smugglers will not be given any concessions.”
