Joypurhat Correspondent:
A protest march has been held in Joypurhat to strongly protest the barbaric attack by the Awami League’s ally Jatiya Party and joint forces on the President of the People’s Rights Council and former VP of DUCSU, Nurul Haque Nur. The program was held in the district town on Saturday (August 30) at 3 pm under the joint banner of the People’s Rights Council, Youth Rights Council, Students’ Rights Council and Workers’ Rights Council.
The protest march started at 3 pm from the district office of the District People’s Rights Council, Noor Super Market. The procession turned around the city’s Bata intersection and ended in front of Zero Point Mosque Market along the main road, where a short rally was held.
Abul Kalam Azad, President of the People’s Rights Council District Committee, spoke at the event. Present at the time were Abdul Hamid Babu, Joint Convener of the District Committee of the People’s Rights Council, District Youth Rights Council President Sumon Obi, General Secretary Ruhul Amin, District Student Rights Council President Sohel Rana, Sadar Upazila People’s Rights Council President Horat Ali, and others.
People’s Rights Council District Committee President Abul Kalam Azad said, “If the Jatiya Party had not been an ally of the Awami Fascists in the last three elections, then the three elections in this country would not have been scandalous. The Jatiya Party has helped violate the fundamental rights and human rights of 16-18 crore people in this country to participate in those elections. After the mass uprising, we thought that the government we gave the responsibility to would run the country well. But the head of this government is trying to hide himself in some way or the other. The nation will never accept this, and we will not accept it either.”
