Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called on the countrymen to forget their differences and build a Bangladesh of equality.
He said that the real lesson of sacrifice is sacrifice, humanity and establishing a society without discrimination. He told these things to journalists after offering the holy Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the central Eidgah on the grounds of Thakurgaon Government Boys’ High School at 8 am on Thursday (May 28).
Mirza Fakhrul said, let us forget all differences and move forward as per the instructions of Allah Ta’ala and prepare ourselves to make sacrifices. Let us stand by the distressed, poor and discriminated people of the country and build a Bangladesh of equality. Let us pray to Allah Ta’ala that He may grant us that success.
Expressing his gratitude to the people of Thakurgaon, he further said that sacrifice is not a murder; rather, it is a lesson of self-purification and sacrifice.
The minister also said, we want to purify ourselves by removing all the impurities in our minds and society through sacrifice. We perform sacrifice on the orders of Allah.
Alhaj Maulana Md. Khalilur Rahman led the Thakurgaon Central Eid Jamaat. After the prayers, special prayers were held seeking peace, prosperity and welfare of the country, nation and the world Muslim Ummah.
Present at the time were Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rafiqul Haque, Superintendent of Police Mr. Md. Belal Hossain, District BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin, various administration officials, leaders and activists of the district BNP, and journalists from print and electronic media.
