The holy Shab-e-Barat will be celebrated across the country today, Tuesday, with due dignity and solemnity. On this occasion, there will be a government holiday tomorrow, Wednesday.

“Lailatun Nisf Min Shaban” (the night of the fourteenth day of Shaban). And “Lailatun Nisf Min Shaban” is called Shab-e-Barat because Shab means night and Barat means salvation or liberation. The Persian word ‘Shab’ means night and ‘Barat’ means liberation.

Today is the night of liberation or ‘Lailatul Barat’. The night of the 14th day of Shaban in the Hijri year is known as the night of good fortune for devout Muslims. On this night, Allah Almighty opens the door of endless mercy for his servants.

On this glorious night, devout Muslims are immersed in voluntary prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran and remembrance of Allah in the hope of receiving the grace of the Most Merciful.

Muslims pray, seeking forgiveness for past sins and injustices and seeking the welfare of the future life. At night, they visit the graves of their relatives and relatives and seek forgiveness for the souls of the deceased.

The holy Shab-e-Barat also brings the message of the arrival of the holy Ramadan to Muslims. The holy month of Ramadan comes after the month of Shaban. Therefore, preparations for Ramadan practically begin from Shab-e-Barat.

Many homes prepare delicious food including halwa and roti around the holy Shab-e-Barat and distribute it among relatives, neighbors and the poor and needy.

Carrying and burning explosives, fireworks, crackers, and other harmful and polluting substances has been declared prohibited on the night of the holy Shab-e-Barat.

This holy night is a precious opportunity for mercy, forgiveness and spiritual purification, and everyone should devote themselves to worship, self-criticism and human welfare work.

According to Islamic tradition, this night is full of special virtues and a unique time to ask for forgiveness. The Hadith states that on this night, Allah Almighty showers special mercy and forgiveness on His servants.

The teachings of Shabe Barat should not be limited to personal worship but should be applied for the welfare of society and the nation. Everyone should come forward to establish peace, compassion and human values by rejecting all injustice, injustice, lawlessness and superstition.

I pray to the Almighty Allah, may Almighty Allah forgive us all, protect us and guide the country and nation to the path of peace, progress and welfare.

We will make a special prayer to the Almighty Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. On the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Barat, I wish the country, the nation and the Muslim world progress, prosperity and peace.

May Allah Almighty grant us all the success to be purified from all sins and transgressions in the month of Shaban and to welcome the month of Ramadan properly. Amen.
