The District Detective Branch (DB) has arrested two more important accused in the controversial Dipu Chandra Das murder case in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. The district police confirmed this information in a press release on Thursday (March 5, 2026).
The press release stated that they were arrested in two separate areas of Bhaluka on Wednesday (March 4, 2026) night. The arrested are Siam Ahmed (19) of Batajor Dakuria area and Abdullah (28) of Habirbari Union.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) of the district police Md. Abdullah Al Mamun said that they have been identified by analyzing the CCTV footage and information technology of the incident. Initial investigation has revealed that the accused were shouting slogans while pulling the rope while Dipu’s body was hanging from a tree on Square Masterbari Main Road during the incident. They incited the crowd present and directly participated in the barbaric torture on the corpse and encouraged others as well.
It is worth noting that a total of 25 accused have been arrested in this murder case so far. 12 of them have already given confessional statements in court. The district detective branch is continuing its operation to arrest the remaining absconding accused in the case.
