Police have arrested a drug dealer named Shamsul Haque (32) on charges of planting and tending a marijuana plant next to his house in Tarakanda, Mymensingh. He was arrested from Dhakirkanda Chinapati village of Balikhan Union of the upazila early on Saturday (August 16, 2025).
The arrested Shamsul Haque is the son of the deceased Ashraf Qari of the village. At that time, an 8-foot tall marijuana plant planted next to his house was seized and brought to the police station.
Tarakanda Police Station SI Taheruddin Khan said that Shamsul Haque was arrested based on a secret information and was arrested. He was secretly planting and tending a marijuana plant inside the house next to the house. Later, he was arrested and the marijuana plant was seized.
After the arrest, Shamsul Haque was sent to a learned court in a drug case on Saturday afternoon, according to the police.
