A young man was seriously injured in a stabbing attack in Paschim Karia Satbaria village of Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat due to love and suspicion.
According to local sources, Mosha Tajmin (father: Md. Harun) of Paschim Karia Satbaria village fell in love with a young man named Md. Masud from India about 7 months ago through Facebook. Just two months after their acquaintance, they got married as a family. However, they got divorced a few days ago due to family disputes.
Then Md. Masud suspected that Tajmin was having a love affair with a young man named Md. Labib (father: Md. Zainul Abedin) of the same village. Based on this suspicion, Md. Masud called Labib and summoned him to the area adjacent to Lakma Mission Field at around 9 pm on August 31. There, Labib tried to kill him by stabbing him in the throat and fell to the ground. When the locals rushed to his screams, the attacker Md. Masud fled.
The locals quickly admitted the injured Labib to Joypurhat Modern District Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment.
In this regard, the officer-in-charge of Panchbibi Police Station said that the incident is under investigation.
According to police sources, the victim has filed a written complaint with the police station and the investigation process has begun, said ASI Humayun.
