A 10-year-old boy named Abu Bakr Siddique has become a household name in Noakhali’s Companiganj after memorizing 30 verses of the Holy Quran in six months. His family, teachers and locals are delighted with his extraordinary success.
Abu Bakr Siddique is a resident of Purba Charchenga village in Ward No. 6 of Sonadia Union in Hatia Upazila. He is the son of Md. Belal Uddin and Ayesha Siddique. He completed the complete Quran memorization in just six months from the Hifz department of Darul Arkam Madrasa in Companiganj.
According to family sources, there are several Quran memorizers in Siddique’s family. He was interested in the Quran since childhood. His parents had planned to make him a Quran memorizer since the birth of his son. With that goal in mind, he was admitted to the Hifz department of Darul Arkam Madrasa in early 2025.
With the encouragement of his family and the close supervision of his teachers, Siddiq was able to memorize the entire Quran in just six months through regular practice every day.
Child Hafiz Abu Bakr Siddiq said that he has loved reciting the Quran since childhood. He has studied regularly with the support of his madrasa teachers and the inspiration of his family. Siddiq dreams of becoming a great scholar and a renowned Hafiz of the country in the future.
Siddiq’s father Md. Belal Uddin said, “I have seen interest in the Quran in my son since childhood. That is why I admitted him to the Hifz department. By the grace of God, he has been able to memorize the entire Quran in a short time. As a father, this is a matter of great joy and pride for me. He asks everyone to pray for his son, so that he can become a worthy scholar and serve the religion in the future.”
Hafiz Muhammad Munawar, head of the Hifz department of Darul Arqam Madrasa, told the media that Siddiq has been able to memorize the Quran quickly with the supervision of his teachers and the support of his family. He expressed hope that in the future he will become a great scholar and serve Islam.
Assistant Muhtamim Maulana Rafiqul Islam of the madrasa said, Siddiq is a very attentive and hardworking student. Due to his regular diligence, he was able to complete the memorization of the Quran in a short time. Local residents also expressed joy at his success.
