A huge amount of illegally stored diesel has been seized in a joint operation in Hatia upazila of Noakhali. One person was arrested during the operation.
A joint operation conducted in the Tamraddi Bazar area of the upazila on Tuesday (April 21) night searched a shop called “Belayet Motor Parts”. About 1,600 liters (8 barrels) of illegal diesel were seized from the shop during the operation.
Arrested Mofiz Uddin Faruk is the son of the late Rafiqul Haider of Khirdia village of Tamraddi union of the upazila.
Hatia police station officer-in-charge (OC) Kabir Hossain said that the seized diesel and the arrested person were brought to the police station for further legal action. A regular case has been registered in this incident. The accused will be handed over to the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Court around noon on Thursday.
