Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG truck in Trishal, Mymensingh. The accident occurred in front of Liton’s house on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Sadar Union of the upazila at around 8 am on Wednesday (27 August 2025).
According to local sources, an unidentified truck coming from the opposite direction in the Mymensingh-bound lane collided head-on with a CNG truck coming from the opposite direction. The CNG truck twisted and twisted and two people, including the driver, died on the spot. On receiving the information, Trishal police reached the spot, rescued the injured and took them to the Upazila Health Complex. Later, the seriously injured CNG truck driver Abdul Matin (45) was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment, where he died during treatment. The other deceased was Hafiz Uddin (53) of Uthura village in Bhaluka upazila.
Trishal Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mansur Ahmed said the truck driver fled after the accident. A search operation is underway to find the killer truck and the damaged CNG has been taken into custody by the police station.
