At least 20 people were injured in the Boalmari Upazila Municipality Sadar. Several of the injured were seriously injured and have been treated at the Upazila Health Complex. The horse was biting whoever it was chasing. This incident has suddenly spread panic across the area.
The incident took place on Sunday (September 7) at around 7 am in the College Road and Chowrasta areas of the Upazila Municipality. In addition, at least twenty people were injured in the past two days in different places of the municipality due to the horse’s bites and kicks. Many of the injured have also received primary treatment.
Some of the injured are: Kazi Hasan Firoz (60), Ataur Rahman (55), Md. Siddique, (45), Shahidul (25), Monira Begum (36), Aleya Begum (34), residents of the Upazila Municipality Sadar. The names of the rest could not be known initially. Many have also received treatment at different places.
Idris Baker, a resident of the College Road area of the municipality, said that in the last two days, several people, including men and women, were suddenly injured by horse bites. This morning, several people injured by mad horse bites received treatment at the Upazila Health Complex.
Eyewitness and resident of the Andharkotha Mahalla of the municipality, Md. Nizam Uddin Khan, said that at least 20 to 25 people, including women, were injured in different places in the municipality in the last two days. The mad horse is biting whoever it comes across. It is believed that the horse is behaving like a mad dog after biting someone and is biting and kicking anyone in front of it.
Kazi Hasan Firoz, who was seriously injured by a horse bite, said that I was going to the railway station for a walk in the morning. On the way, when I reached the intersection, a mad horse came running and bit me on the back before I realized anything. People immediately came and rescued me. Later, after receiving treatment at the Upazila Health Complex, I am now at home. However, the affected area is experiencing severe pain. As far as I know, at least six people have been injured this morning.
Confirming the truth of the incident, Dr. Morshed Alam, a doctor at the emergency department of Boalmari Upazila Health Complex, said that several people injured by horse bites came to the hospital for treatment in the morning. The injured have been given painkillers and tetanus injections. According to the injured, it is believed that the horse was bitten by a mad dog. Due to which the horse is behaving like this.
