Mirzapur (Tangail) Correspondent:
About 200 patients received free medical services at the free medical camp in Tarafpur Union in Mirzapur, Tangail.
This medical camp and blood grouping was organized by the Tarafpur Union Science Club and Library on Wednesday (August 27).
The camp was inaugurated by Mahbubur Rahman, General Secretary of Tarafpur Union Science Club and Library. The camp, which ran from 3 pm to midnight, provided free healthcare and necessary medicines to patients. The camp’s Dr. Md. Babul Akhter, Dr. Liton Chandra Saha and Dr. Rony Dutta provided medical services to the patients.
Razia Begum (45), who came for treatment, said, “I was suffering from physical problems for a long time, but I could not get treatment due to lack of money. I came here and got medicine from a doctor for free. This has been a great benefit for poor people like us.”
Shafiqul Islam (55), who received similar treatment, said, “I have been suffering from knee pain and breathing problems for a long time. I got the opportunity to see a doctor here for free, and I also got medicine. Such initiatives need to be more, especially for the poor people of the village.”
Appreciating this initiative, locals said that such activities are a blessing for the poor people of the village. They want it to be organized more regularly so that the deprived people can get services.
Mahbubur Rahman, general secretary of Tarafpur Union Science Club and Library, said, “Our organization always tries to stand by the people of Tarafpur Union. We have tried to ensure medical services for the poor and helpless people through this free medical camp. We want that no one is deprived of treatment due to lack of money. Such activities will continue in the future.”
He further said, “Not only medical services, we are conducting various activities related to education, poverty alleviation and social development. Our main goal is to ensure the overall welfare of the people of Tarafpur Union. If we get everyone’s cooperation in this work, we will be able to work on a larger scale.” We will make Tarafpur Union a modern union, God willing.
