Annual general meeting and exchange of views of Gollapara Bazar Merchants’ Association held in Tanore

The annual general meeting and exchange of views was held with great enthusiasm at the initiative of the Gollapara Bazar Banik Samiti of Tanor Upazila of Rajshahi.

The meeting, organized with the aim of developing the market, protecting the rights of traders and strengthening the overall management, was held at the Gollapara Bazar premises. At that time, the entire market area was decorated in colorful decorations. Traders from different levels of the market, local dignitaries and common people participated in the program.

Professor Mojibur Rahman, Member of Parliament for Rajshahi-1 (Tanoor-Godagari) constituency, was present as the chief guest at the meeting. Tanor Upazila Nirbahi Officer Naima Khan was present as the special guest.

The event was chaired by Jahangir Alam, President of Gollapara Bazar Banik Samiti, and moderated by General Secretary Md. Tipu Sultan. Also present at the event were Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Tanor Upazila Ameer Alamgir Hossain, Nayeb Ameer Anisur Rahman, Upazila Secretary DM Akkas Ali, Tanor Municipality Ameer Mokshed Ali, Municipality Secretary Jewel Uddin, Advocate Abdul Quader, Rajshahi District Education Department President Dr. Obaidullah and Upazila Chairman candidate Abdur Rahim, along with various leaders, activists and dignitaries.

The speakers at the meeting emphasized the overall development of the market, prevention of extortion, strengthening security, development of drainage system and creating a customer-friendly environment. Along with this, there was a call for increasing unity and coordination among the traders.

In his speech, the chief guest mentioned the local market as an important part of the economy and said that with the joint efforts of the traders, market management will be more modern and orderly. He assured all-round cooperation from the administration.

During the exchange of views, the traders highlighted their various problems and possibilities and proposed effective solutions.

At the end of the event, future plans were adopted and a commitment was expressed to further accelerate the activities of the traders’ association.
