Like the rest of the country, Netrokona is also hosting a colorful event for the New Bud Sports 2026. The final match of the Kabaddi and Football competition was held at the Netrokona District Modern Stadium at 2:30 pm last Wednesday. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sukhmoy Sarkar inaugurated the game as the chief guest at the event.
In the Kabaddi competition, Netrokona Sadar Upazila won the championship in the boys’ category, and Kalmakanda Upazila became the runner-up. On the other hand, Netrokona Sadar Upazila won the championship in the girls’ category and Netrokona Municipality became the runner-up. In the Football (Boys) category, Barhatta Upazila won the championship and Netrokona Municipality became the runner-up.
On the other hand, Football (Girls) Kalmakanda Upazila won the championship and Netrokona Municipality became the runner-up. At the end of the final game, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sukhmoy Sarkar distributed prizes among the champion and runner-up teams.
Also present at the event were officials of the administration, District Sports Officer Setu Akhter, District Sports Organization Hedayet Ullah Rumin, Sports Organization Abul Kashem, officials of various government and private departments, and media personnel.
A large number of players from 10 upazilas and 5 municipalities of Netrokona district are participating in the Notun Kuri Sports 2026, which started on May 2. The closing ceremony of this competition will be held on May 10.
