Atrai (Naogaon) Correspondent:
A young man tragically died after being bitten by a poisonous snake in Mollapara village of Atrai upazila of Naogaon. The young man named Rashidul was bitten by a poisonous snake at around 2 am yesterday.

Although he initially sought help from local Kabirajs for treatment, he wasted valuable time and later died on the way to Rajshahi Divisional Hospital. When Rashidul was brought home, another Kabiraj took him back to his home on Sunday (August 24) morning and said that the patient was alive and would be treated. After giving Kabiraj jharfuk for about an hour, Kabiraj himself finally announced that the patient had died.

Mahal said that the patient who was bitten by a snake did not get admitted to the Upazila Health Complex for medical treatment and died due to Kabiraj jharfuk treatment. This might not have happened if the health complex had treated the snake bite immediately and not given Kabiraj jharfuk. The untimely death of Rashidul, a young man from the village, has cast a shadow of grief over the area.
