The 6th phase of the research assistance program jointly funded by the Bangladesh Academy of Science (BAS) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has been held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU).
The workshop was inaugurated at the Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Room of the university on Sunday (24 August 2025) at 10 am under the supervision of the Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURS).
The program was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Hasina Khan, Fellow and Secretary of the Bangladesh Academy of Science, and Professor Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam, Coordinator of the Higher Education and Research Committee of BAU, were the special guests. The event was presided over by Fellow Major General (Retd.) Professor Dr. ASM Matiur Rahman of Bangladesh Academy of Science. The event was moderated by Assistant Professor Fatema-Tuz Zohra.
Speaking as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan said, “In this workshop, detailed discussions were held on work planning, distribution of responsibilities and implementation strategies in collaboration with researchers, policymakers and stakeholders. We are hopeful that the researchers of BAKU will devote their talent and dedication to the welfare of the country.”
The workshop, organized with the aim of accelerating the development of the agriculture and science sectors through increasing international cooperation, was attended by the Principal Investigators, Co-Principal Investigators of the relevant projects and teachers and researchers from various faculties.
