Annual sports competition held at Patiya Asia School on the 26th

A two-day annual sports and cultural competition was held at Patiya Ashiya High School in Chittagong on the 26th.

On Wednesday morning, January 28, the 41-event annual sports and cultural competition was presided over by Ashiya High School Headmaster Mohammad Abdul Jalil. Upazila Executive Officer Farhanur Rahman was supposed to be present as the chief guest at the event, but he could not attend due to his busy government work.

The event was inaugurated by Patiya Upazila Secondary Academic Supervisor Babul Dey, and the event was moderated by Senior Teacher Deepak Kanti Barua. School Management Committee Guardian Member Yusuf Ali and Assistant Headmaster Nurul Amin were special guests at the event.

Senior teachers Shakil Ahmed, Maulana Saidul Haque Chowdhury, Sharmila Das, Nuruchhafa, Ajit Chowdhury, Hafizul Islam, Nipun Pal, Roksana Akhtar, Rashedul Islam, Nafiza Rifad, assistant teachers Kartik Nath, Rabiul Alam, Razia Suktana, Faria Rahman, Sadir Alam and others were present at the time.

On Thursday, January 29, prizes will be distributed among the winners of various event competitions among the students.

In the president’s speech, the principal of Asia High School, Abdul Jalil, said that the importance of sports in nation building is immense, a healthy body and a strong mind require sports, if someone wants a healthy body and a strong mind, then there is no alternative to sports. Sports are the only effective role in developing the right personality and building a healthy body. Sports and healthy entertainment practices are necessary to protect against criminal tendencies and to build a healthy social environment.

He further said, “To sow the seeds of patriotism among the young generation facing danger, we must practice sports and moral education along with reading.” He said, “We, teachers, our job is to shape people’s lives by making students well-educated. There is no alternative to good education in building a prosperous Bangladesh.”
