In separate operations in Ranishankail of Thakurgaon, police and army personnel have arrested two youths with ganja and yaba. These operations were conducted after noon on Thursday (September 4).
The police said that a raid was conducted at Bharnia village in Dharmagarh union of the upazila at around 3:30 pm on Thursday. At that time, Kajal (25), son of A. Jabbar, was arrested with 500 grams of ganja.
Earlier, at around 2:30 pm, in a joint operation by the army and Ranishankail police, Sumon Mia (40), son of the deceased Shamsuddin, was arrested with 16 pieces of yaba tablets from Bhangbari village of Bachor union No. 5.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ranishankail police station Muha. Arshedul Haque said, ‘Separate cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act. “Our campaign against drugs will continue.”
