Awami League government is on the verge of destroying the education system, BNP’s Prince

Mymensingh Correspondent:

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince said that the education system has been destroyed during the Awami League government. Although the GPA-5 yield was bumper due to the public exams and additional marks given in the answer sheets, the actual merit could not be verified.

He said this as the chief guest at the introduction ceremony of the newly elected committee of the Non-MPO Private School Association (Non-MPO) at the Mymensingh Zilla Parishad auditorium on Saturday (August 16, 2025) afternoon.

Prince said that students are being deprived of proper education due to the introduction of day and event-based programs instead of classroom teaching. For this, it is important to reintroduce study-based education programs. He also said that if BNP comes to power in the next election with the support of the people, it will form a strong education commission consisting of experienced, qualified and talented people.

He said, “Students played a courageous role in the mass uprising of July 24 and August. The election roadmap will be announced before the upcoming Ramadan. However, the fascist Awami League and vested interests may conspire from home and abroad. Therefore, everyone must be alert and resist collectively.”

Highlighting the importance of the upcoming elections, he said that the country’s development, progress and future depend on free, impartial and peaceful elections. Establishing a parliament and government that represents the people is the main demand of the time.

The program was presided over by Private School Association Chairman Professor Azharul Islam Kajal and moderated by Secretary General Hazrat Ahmed Shakib. Mymensingh North District BNP Joint Convener Motahar Hossain Talukder, Metropolitan BNP Joint Convener Professor Sheikh Amjad Ali and various teacher representatives of the district were present at the time.
