Bikers who came to get fuel at Mundumala Shahin filling station were beaten up by Jubo League leader

Tanor (Rajshahi) Correspondent:

Locals have alleged that foreign motorcyclists who had come to buy petrol at the Shahin Filling Station in Mundumala Municipality area of Tanor Upazila of Rajshahi were beaten up by locals. The scene of such a fight was shared on the popular social media platform Facebook. This caused great tension among the motorcyclists standing in line.

The oil supply was stopped. Later, the situation was brought under control with the dedicated efforts of the police pump authorities and tag officers. The oil distribution process began. After a while, the commotion resumed. The police beat the miscreants with batons. When the situation normalized, the oil was supplied again. In this way, oil was supplied amidst commotion and beatings from morning to day.

The video shows that around 11 am on Wednesday, district Jubo League leader Abu Raihan Tapan, a resident of Mundumala Bazar, bus master Habibur, Faisal and their leadership severely beat up the bike riders of Tanor Sadar. In the 48-second video, Jubo League member Tapan is also seen saying, “Fuck them, they won’t be given any oil, why would they come to get oil from the oil mill, beat them with sticks and drive them away.” The fight lasted for hours. Several bikers were injured in this. The source also confirmed that the injured received first aid.

Owner Mozammel Haque, who was at the pump, said that this is a global problem. Here, you have to be patient to get oil. Everyone was standing in line to get oil. But suddenly, there was a commotion on the road. Later, with everyone’s efforts, the atmosphere normalized and oil distribution started.

Tag Officer Agriculture Officer Saifullah Ahmed said that there was no commotion inside the filling station. Oil is being distributed fairly. At first, oil was being distributed at 500 taka. Later, oil was reduced to 300 taka per bike. Because the queue was still long.

Last Tuesday, there was a fight at the Choubaria Brothers filling station during oil distribution. The main road was closed. There was a lot of traffic jam. The bikers blocked the road. Later, Upazila Nirbahi Officer UNO Naima Khan came to the spot, normalized the situation, checked the vehicle documents and diving license and started supplying oil.

According to the public, there is a long queue of motorcycles at the filling station where oil is being supplied not only in Tanor but also in the country. Again, many people come to get oil for 500 taka, but after getting oil for 200 taka, the oil is spilling out of the tank. Bikers are taking oil even when they do not need it. The queue starts 24 hours before the oil is supplied. Long traffic jams are being created on the road due to the queues of several kilometers. The government says there is no shortage of oil. Panicked, bikers are taking oil even when they do not need it. Again, many bikers are taking oil and selling it at a higher price. Due to these reasons, the queues are long.
