The recovery of four bodies, including a child, from the Buriganga River in Keraniganj, Dhaka has created a sensation. Police recovered the bodies of two women, a man and a three-year-old child from two separate places in the river. However, their identities have not been identified yet.
The bodies were recovered around 7:30 pm on Saturday. Sadarghat Naval Police Outpost In-Charge (OC) Md. Sohag Rana said that the floating body of a 30-year-old woman was first recovered from the Mirerbag Cold Storage in Keraniganj.
She had a black burqa tied around her neck and was wearing a pink salwar-kameez. About an hour later, the body of a three-year-old boy wrapped in a burqa was recovered from the same place.
On the other hand, Keraniganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Syed Mohammad Akhtar Hossain said that two more bodies were recovered from Madaripur Jame Mosque in Jinjira Union, about 20 yards away from the Mirerbagh incident site.
According to Sub-Inspector Md. Moktar Hossain, in-charge of Barishur Naval Police Outpost, the 40-year-old man recovered here was wearing black pants and a check shirt, and the 30-year-old woman was wearing a gray shirt and a red salwar. Minor injury marks were found on their bodies.
The four recovered bodies have been sent to the Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy.
